Gene Expression Analysis Of Heterologous 6dEB Biosynthesis

Haoran Zhang and Blaine A Pfeifer. Chemical and Biological Engineering, Tufts University, 4 Colby Street, Medford, MA 02155

In this work, key enzymes involved with heterologous E. coli 6-deoxyerythronolide (6dEB) were varied to determine their impact on production. Among those tested were the deoxyerythronolide B synthase enzymes and the enzymes needed to produce the substrates required for biosynthesis. The results give a relative comparison of the influence these key enzymes have on the overall 6dEB production scheme.
