#515 - Plenary: Frontiers in Alternative Fossil Fuels (TH001)
Overview: Fossil fuels will remain the primary source for power generation over the next several decades. This session will overview opportunities to ensure sustainable fossil fuel use. In particular, research issues related to clean coal energy production including conversion to other fuels, carbon sequestration to minimize negative impacts on air quality and climate, improved fossil fuels for transportation (e.g., clean diesel), and alternative fossil fuels (tar sands, oil shale). The speakers for this session will be invited only.
