#513 - Novel Catalytic Materials (08D02)
New catalytic materials continue to yield improvements in the activity, selectivity, energy efficiency, and reliability of refining, petrochemical, and fine chemical processes. In addition to economic driving forces, environmental concerns have spurred worldwide efforts in the discovery and development of novel heterogeneous catalysts. This session will focus on novel materials for catalytic applications. Papers dealing with new types of catalytic materials (as opposed to the application of known catalysts to new reactions) are preferred. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to: Surfactant-templated mesoporous materials; Nanocrystalline materials; High temperature catalysts; Sol-gel derived catalysts; Catalysts based on self-assembled materials; Heterogenized, homogeneous catalysts; Non-oxide catalytic materials; Carbon nanotube-based catalysts.
