#86 - The Smart Plant: Opportunities in Operations, Security, and the Environment (10E01)
The Smart Plant optimizes the use of people and technology to extract maximum value from its assets for the good of the enterprise as a whole. Chemical engineers are expected to play key roles in the fundamentals, design, support, and operation of Smart Plants which are achievable within five years. In this session, fundamentals, applications, and opportunities will be presented by companies who are implementing Smart Plant concepts. Five paper presentations will be followed by three round table discussions. Round table discussions will focus on (1) "The Smart Plant and Plant Operations", (2) "The Smart Plant and the Environment" and (3) "The Smart Plant and Plant Security". Walk-ins are invited to attend the session and participate in the roundtables. All participants receive a free report of the results.
