| #46 - Vapor Phase Synthesis and Characterization of Nanowires (T2001) | |||
| Vapor phase techniques that include thermal CVD, metalorganic CVD (MOCVD), hot-filament CVD and plasma enhanced CVD have enjoyed success in microelectronics industry. Based on their success and experience, these techniques have recently found their way into synthesis of nanowires. Some examples include synthesis inorganic nanowires such as silicon, germanium, various oxides (zinc, indium and tin ... oxides), nitrides (GaN) etc. Vapor-liquid-solid (VLS) and related techniques and planar deposition are some of the popular approaches in nanowire growth. Papers focusing on growth mechanisms, modeling, process diagnostics, nanowire characterization and synthesis of new type of 1-D building blocks such as branched, junctioned, nanobelts, hetero-epitaxial arrays and non-epitaxial arrays and application ready nanowire systems are strongly encouraged. Papers dealing with reactor systems specifically designed for large scale production of nanowires are also relevant. | |||
