#490 - Cardiovascular Systems in Health and Disease (15D16)
This session will highlight research involving cells and tissues of the cardiovascular system with particular emphasis on molecular and multi-scale strategies employed to increase understanding of normal function and aid in design of therapeutic strategies for intervention of disease. Topics may span length-scales from molecular to organismal physiology, involving experimental and/or computational methods. Sample topics include: - angiogenesis - atherosclerosis - cardiac repair - cardiovascular grafts and stents - cell adhesion and migration - cell signaling - hypothermic and photodynamic therapies - inflammation - ischemia / reperfusion injury - LDL - mechanotransduction - pharmacokinetics and drug delivery - plaque development - sickle cell disease - stem cells - thrombosis/fibrinolysis
