Intermolecular- and intramolecular-hydrogen bonding has a significant impact on the phase behavior of every system containing proton donating group and acceptor group such as surfactants. In colloidal and biological systems, hydrogen bonding is an important factor too. Glycol-ether such as iC3E1(Etheylene Glycol iso-propyl Ether) forms both intermolecular- and intramolecular-hydrogen bonds. The systen consisting of this type of surfactant(polyethoxyethanol) with Hydrocarbon is of direct interest on alkanol-alkane-ether systems as they involve the specific interaction of hydrogen bonds, and is of key importance in the study of non-ionic surfactants.

The objective of this study is to present a phase behavior data of iC3E1 + alkanes(n-Hexane, n-Heptane) with the equipment for isothermal and isobaric experiment. The vapor-liquid equilibria data for this system were correlated using Multi Fluid Nonrandom Associating Lattice Fluid Equation of State(MFNALF-EOS), and resulted in a good agreement with experimental data.
