#145 - Active Learning Techniques (04018)
This interactive workshop will focus on methods that will increase student learning by requiring them to be active but do not require additional professorial time. First, methods that can be used to make a standard lecture format more active will be demonstrated. Then alternate teaching methods that require students to be active including cooperative groups, improving group projects, learning through extracurricular activities, and the use of simulations will be demonstrated. The key ratios of (student learning)/(professorial time) and (student learning)/(student time) will be discussed throughout the workshop. Tuesday Workshop
