#351 - Diverse Capstone Design Projects (04003)
ABET criteria require “an ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability”. AIChE criteria include sufficient knowledge “. . . to design, analyze, and control physical, chemical, and biological processes . . .” These provide broad latitude within the Capstone Design intent of developing creative, critical and integrative thinking skills. This session focuses on development and implementation of unique design pedagogy emphasizing integrating chemical engineering fundamentals using emerging technology topics. Preference will be given to papers measuring student improvement against identifiable metrics.
