Providing process support to a chemical plant does not only involve executing routine analytical methods to qualify products or raw materials in a laboratory. It also involves the development and implementation of more elaborate laboratory performance tests and a close interaction between laboratory staff and plant personnel at all levels. This presentation describes the challenges, opportunities and requirements to develop a plant process support career from the viewpoint of laboratory staff.
