Real Laboratories At A Distance

Jim Henry, UT-Chattanooga, 615 McCallie Av, Chattanooga, TN 37403

It is recognized how engineering teams can create distance organizations to collaborate on experiments; share information and knowledge; remotely operate instrumentation; dynamically acquire, archive, e-publish, access, mine, analyze, and visualize data; and deliver unique learning, workforce-development, and innovation tools.

These facets of experimentation, sharing, remote operation, data acquiring, analysis and visualization and unique learning tools are available in undergraduate chemical engineering laboratories.

This poster illustrates the techniques and variety of remote operation of unit operations and control systems for student experimentation and learning.
