Ionic liquids are next-generation green solvents for chemical & petrochemical industries. This paper reviews experimental data on infinite dilution activity coefficient of hexane, heptane, benzene and toluene in various ionic liquids at different temperatures. Feasible ionic liquid solvents are selected for extraction of aromatics from aromatic/aliphatic mixtures based on their selectivity and capacity at infinite dilution.
